This year's workshop will be hosted at the Commons Mixer on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington. Workshop participants can reach the venue either by shuttle from the official workshop hotel or by private transportation (refer to the Parking section for specific parking information).

WIPTTE has reserved a block of 60 rooms on a first-come, first-served basis at the Silver Cloud Redmond. The single/double occupancy rooms are available at a special conference rate of $135 a night. Additional persons can stay for $20 per person per night. Reservation deadline for this rate is April 10, 2015. Transportation will be provided between the hotel and the conference site in the morning and at the end of the day. Rooms can be reserved online, by phone, or by email. The primary airport to reach the workshop venue by plane is the Seattle-Tacoma Interactional Airport (Sea-Tac Airport). The airport is the largest airport in the Pacific Northwest region, and accommodates many flights from all parts of the country and beyond similarly to other similar-sized international airports. Workshop participants arriving into Sea-Tac will be able to travel to the workshop venue and surrounding areas from various modes of transportations including shuttle vans, rental cars, and private taxis. Depending on your mode of transportation and current traffic conditions, travel to the workshop venue can vary from 30-60 minutes. Reservations for shuttle service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and SilverCloud Inns & Hotels - Redmond are available through ShuttleExpress. One-way shuttle rate between the airport and the hotel costs $22 per person, and pick-up at either location occurs 40 minutes past the hour. To park for the Mixer on Tuesday and Wednesday, turn into 152nd from NE 40th St in Redmond and go down into the underground parking garage. Turn right and find a place to park. Remember where you parked. Take stairs or elevator to the surface. The Commons and Mixer will be a short distance to the east. The entrance is close by, northwest corner.
On Thursday morning, the keynotes are a few minutes away in Building 99. It is on the northeast corner of 148th Avenue NE and NE 36th Street. A tall parking garage is just to the east of it. If you come down 36th Street you will go past it, turn left on 150th, then take an immediate left into the garage. |
