College Station is home to Texas A&M University (nicknamed Aggieland) and the Texas A&M Aggies. In 2007 Texas A&M University was the top-ranked institution in The Washington Monthly’s new “College Guide,” which its editors say focuses on “tangible contributions to the public interest,” and is consistently ranked in the top five. In 2010, Texas A&M University was ranked number one in ROI (Return on Investment), beating out MIT and CalTech, which were second and third. In 2008, the National Science Foundation named Texas A&M University to be one of the top 20 research performers.

Mays Business School is located on the west campus of Texas A&M University. (Directions) Visitor parking (see below for shuttles from the hotel) is available in Parking Area 72 on Olsen Road, adjacent to the Wehner Building (fees assessed per hour). Park in one of the numbered parking spaces and proceed to the parking payment machine located near the north sie of the Wehner building. Parking during the conference is free in lots 18 & 98 behind Wehner. Parking in lot 72 is pay for parking.

The talks are located on the first floor of the Wehner building. Wednesday Reception

The reception will be held at the Benjamin Knox Gallery, a rebuilt historic College Station train depot that draws inspirations of Texas A&M University and the city's roots when the original location of the depot marked the main entrance to the campus in front of the University's Academic Building. The surprisingly large gallery facility is the National Art Gallery Headquarters of Benjamin Knox, American Artist and Texas Aggie Class of ’90. There are continually changing art exhibits and opportunities for collectors to acquire a Benjamin Knox original work of art or fine art prints.

Thursday night will consist of music by Possessed by Paul James, great food, student presentations of other research going on in College Station/Bryan, tours, and a night of eclectic bars and venues in our local downtown area.

The banquet will be held at the Messina Hof Winery. Messina Hof Winery & Resort, a Texas vineyard established in 1977 by Paul and Merrill Bonarrigo, is rooted in the union of two family heritages. Winemaker Paul Bonarrigo’s family dates back seven generations to Messina, Sicily. Merrill’s family is from Hof, Germany.

College Station has its own airport (CLL) that services several flights a day (approximately one every 1-2 hours) from both American Airlines (from Dallas) and Continental (from Houston). Additionally, College Station is within driving distance from several major cities with major airports: Houston (2 hours), Austin (2 hours), Killeen (2 hours), Waco (2 hours), Dallas (3 hours), Fort Worth (3 hours), San Antonio (3 hours). We encourage you to rent a car while you are here and tour the other major eastern Texas cities.
